Breakfast Week selects Be Different for online

Breakfast Week is fast becoming a mid Winter Campaign of note.  It celebrates the Great British Breakfast.  It introduce consumers to the importance of eating a good breakfast each day.  This helps you to concentrate, and perform better throughout the day.

Be Different won the appointment to provide Online Services to HGCA.  This is a two year appointment.

The appointment follows a competitive pitch.  An incumbent agency was unseated. The work includes the campaign website and online marketing for January 2013, and 2014.

HGCA and Breakfast Week

Breakfast week is the major campaign for HGCA.  It is a high profile appointment.   Be Different will be working alongside PR agency Ceres.  Ceres are a specialaist food agency. The two have collaborated on pitches and existing business before.

Get Breakfast Week ready for 2013

“Our first task will be to move the existing website away from any content restrictions.  This provides a full content management system that can be updated by HGCA.  Then we must use our creative skill to properly reflect the energy that Breakfast Week captures.”  said Pete Skinner, Managing Director of Be Different.  “We will be working with quite challenging budgets but we are an agency of experts.  We give a bang for buck return that is difficult to beat.  Our UK based team has got bagfuls of experience.  That means we can get things done a lot quicker than others can.  We also operate a lot of modern practices that means we cut overheads.  As much budget as possible is spent where it counts, on delivery, strategy, and planning.

Breakfast Week has been running for several years.  Each year it has got bigger.  Our work will continue that trend.  Events run up and down the country.  The tag line of Shake up Your Wakeup has captured the imagination of the nation.  It is perfect timing as well.  Breakfast week happens when you start to notice the mornings getting brighter.  Spring is on the way.  Even though it is still cold outside the extra daylight is a sure sign.

Be Different Facebook Mother’s Day campaign for EBLEX

Be different launched a Facebook application for EBLEX as part of a campaign. It invites users to enter one of their mum’s recipes to win a fantastic prize.

The campaign was launched on the Simply Beef and Lamb Facebook page, and consists of a form inside the Facebook group which links directly to the Simply Beef and Lamb website also developed by Be Different for EBLEX.

Be Different’s Strategic Director, Aaron Savage, said “We have developed a publishing system so that EBLEX can put together competition campaigns to very short deadlines.  This one was put together and released in less than a week.  It means that whether you are publishing to a website or to social media platforms, the process is the same.  We expect more of our clients to be using this and therefore be able to react in real time to what is happening in social media.  The prospects are very exciting on what you can achieve.

Be Different launches Chip Week Campaign Microsite

Be Different, the online marketing agency for the Potato Council has released the campaign microsite for Chip Week.  Chip Week has been one of the largest events in the calendar for many years now and this year’s site provides a host of new features.

Strategy Director, Aaron Savage said “We have worked hard with Potato Council to come up with a site that capture the imagination of people and get people thinking about one of the nation’s favourite foods”. We have set up a map application which enables consumers to vote for the favourite chip ship and the winners get some great prizes.  There are also recipes on how to cook a variety of chip dishes and lots of places for people to find out and run their own events.

Chip Week has had some wonderful publicity over the years and has been growing steadily as an event.  We wanted the online presence to reflect this and give soncumers every opportunity to interact and get involved.  It is great to have a client that shares these ambitions and is so great to work with”.

Be Different wins contract to rebuild the HDC website

Be Different has won a competitive pitch to rebuild the B2B website for HDC (Horticultural Development Board) and division of AHDB (Agricultural and Horticultural Development Board).

The pitch was run as part of the roster for provision of web design and web development services and was awarded after an invitation for roster agencies to submit a response.

Aaron Savage, Strategy Director, said “This is another great win for us.  We are now working with 4 divisions of AHDB across Business to Business and Business to Consumer departments.  As a Levy funded operation, HDC has to demonstrate value for money to the industry and we are very well aware of the importance of this.  Our strategic and creative thinking along with our technical solutions enable us to deliver a lot for clients of this nature and we are very excited about this project.”

Be Different appointed by EBLEX to rebuild SimplyBeefandLamb.co.uk

Be Different have continued their winning streak by winning a hard fought competitive pitch in order to redesign & build SimplyBeefandLamb.co.uk.  The website is the consumer facing site for EBLEX who are responsible for marketing beef and lamb in England and are part of AHDB.

EBLEX are a familiar face on television following their Quality Standard advertising campaign featuring Beefy & Lamby which ran for quite a few years and featured cartoon caricatures of cricket superstars Ian Botham and Allan Lamb.

“It is a shame that Beefy and Lamby are no more,” said Aaron Savage “but EBLEX have such a great creative record that we are absolutely enthralled at the prospects for this web design.

We felt through the pitch process that we had shared ambitions to push things further and give EBLEX and consumers a website that they deserve with lots of bells and whistles.  The amount of information is extremely large and so we will have to ensure that all the rich content for recipes, health and fitness is easy to access.  We also have some great ideas about functionality which we hope will make this into one of the premium food websites on the web, and make it an essential destination for foodies everywhere.”

Be Different appointed by Potato Council to rebuild potato.org.uk

Be Different have won their first web design pitch on the Design & Build roster for AHDB.  They have been appointed by Potato Council to create a new website for potato.org.uk which is the Levy Payers B2B site for the division.

“Our plan is to make use of some cutting edge technology and deliver something very special for our new client”, said Aaron Savage.  “We believe that our strategic approach to the project gave us the advantage against what would have undoubtedly been some very stiff competition.

The key to information led B2B websites is about making access to information easier for the audience and as such our approach to the information architecture will be key.  Fortunately our programmers and planners are some of the best in the business and we also believe that we have come up with an extremely innovative creative idea for the site as well.

We already know the marketing department inside Potato Council and now we have a great opportunity to get to know the communications department as well.

We cannot wait to get our teeth into this but the client understands the importance of getting things right as well as the complexity of task in addition to the time pressures of launch and so we have a lot of hard work to get going on as well.”

Be Different provides social media services to Potato Council

Be Different has been appointed by Potato Council (a division of AHDB) to provide Social Media services.  This is the first of the roster pitches to be awarded since the agency was appointed by AHDB to the Design and Build and Online Marketing rosters earlier in the year.

“We are absolutely ecstatic”, said Aaron Savage, a director of Be Different.  “We have some extremely specialised and completely unique social media tools that we have developed and this is the perfect opportunity for us to prove their effectiveness in the marketplace.”

The project will require the agency to monitor the social web and to identify trends, influencers and areas of interest across a range of subjects and will use the company’s proprietary social media engine.

“We believe that social media is about being brave enough to have a one to one relationship with your customers,” continued Mr Savage, “For many brands that is a daunting prospect and so it is extremely brave and forward thinking for Potato Council to attempt a project of this kind, I am not aware of too many people undertaking work of this size at this time.”

The agency believes that their focus on strategic online marketing has given them an edge in the area of emerging media and the technical skill within the agency has been used to create powerful tools aimed at delivering advantage to clients through access to online information sources, research and consumer data.

The project is due to run throughout the year in order to assess how seasonal changes affect consumer behaviour.

AHDB Marketing roster appoints Be Different

Following an open request for submissions and a rigorous 2 stage process, Be Different are proud to announce that they have been appointed to the AHDB marketing roster.

The celebration is twofold because the agency is one of only a handful of suppliers to be appointed to both the Design & build roster and the online marketing roster.

AHDB Marketing roster

Design & Build is expected to cover large scale projects such as website design, mobile phone app development microsites and mobile site development across the full range of departments for AHDB.

Online marketing  will cover more campaign oriented work such as Search marketing and optimisation, Social Media, Online advertising and email marketing, and will see the appointed agencies working closely with design and offline agencies covering PR and traditional advertising.

Aaron Savage, a director of Be Different said “We are very pleased to have been appointed to not 1 but 2 rosters with AHDB and are looking forward to getting to know the departments.  This is a significant opportunity for us and one which we relish with great anticipation.”

AHDB is a levy funded organisation established by an act of parliament and works to ensure that British agr54iculture and horticulture remains competitive and sustainable.  It does this by operating across 6 sectors and divisions

  • Pig meat in England – known as BPEX division
  • Beef & lamb in England – known as EBLEX division
  • Commercial horticulture in great Britain – known as HDC division
  • Milk in Great Britain – known as DairyCo division
  • Potatoes in Great Britain – known as Potato Council division
  • Cereals & oilseeds in the UK – known as HGCA division

Collectively these divisions covers around 75% of all agriculture in the UK and sit very well alongside other clients that Be Different work with such as the British Egg Information Service (BEIC) who cover the production of eggs in the UK, and represent egg farmers.

Mr Savage continued “We are amassing some very specialist knowledge in the food and food production sector and so we are hoping that we will be able to demonstrate the skills necessary to turn these roster positions into some great projects and campaigns.”.
